So, this blog has been dead as a post for a while now while I was working on text. I have about 5 excuses for this. But all of that is beside the point.
I would like to apologize to my up to three readers for taking this long. While I did not give a specific date for posting material, my last post had a tone of immediacy that implied that content would be up in short order. So, for failing to deliver on that, I am sorry.
The project I was working on grew a bit in the telling; it currently sits at over 17000 words, and is not actually complete yet. For sake of sanity and ease of consumption, it will be broken into three parts. The first part will be posted within the hour, and parts 2 and 3 on an “as it’s done” basis, but with an eye to have 2 up in a week, and 3 in about 2 weeks.
The short, titled “Tuesday at the Office” follows a secondary protagonist, The Professor. While he first meets Caroline while doing mercenary work, that’s really only his weekend gig; his day job (and source of his code name) is teaching. Most days, this is uneventful work, teaching classes, filling out paperwork, maintaining office hours, and so forth. But some days are more eventful than others, and you can’t work a night job like being a mercenary without having it occasionally intrude into your daily life. Part One is here.
